Artworkbean Logo Rebranding Project- First Phase

Artworkbean is a design firm that I founded since mid-2008.
artworkbean name is a combination of three words art + work + bean which is actually a random name I'd picked with no reason/meaning.

I just remember now that I very like to eat roasted peanuts. And I want my design firm to reflect my favorite snack. Then I can conclude that 'odd design firm name' with the tagline: the crunchiest design, just for you! an odd tagline isn't it *giggle*

Artworkbean actually already has an official logo (please check in at artworkbean.daportfolio.com). unfortunately, the old logo did not send a message about my principles and values that I believe. I name it:
- Simplicity
- Authenticity
- Creativity, and
- Attractiveness

So then, I feel the need to do such a logo rebranding (and later its logotype also) to refresh my brand image as well as conveying my big four principles and values as I mentioned above.

The Concepts
- Base circle shape. This will represents the value #1
- Two beans (more precisely coffee beans, like we recognize it from their shape/color). This will represents the value #2
- Use of negative space (empty area between the beans) which describes 'painting with naked finger' shape. This will represents the value #3, and at the same time #4 too.

The Process
- Brainstorming, which is gathering ideas. ideas that arise when I do this step is the activity of painting (metaphor of artwork) and beans. tools used: a sheet of blank paper and a pencil.
- Drafting, the process to find a rough sketch of the desired logo. tools used: a piece of paper that are not empty anymore (because it was used earlier in the brainstorming stage) and the same pencil.
- Executing, ie, the digital processing stage to later be used in a variety of purposes and media (print or web). tools used: an old and slow EeePC 1005HA netbook, an A4TECH 8X speed mouse (I forgot the type) and the inkscape ver. 0.48.2.
